    Taste a selection of wine, gin or beer and cider all from the  comfort of the Castle. We invite our local expert to guide you through the tasting of your preferred  beverage. Choose from a selection of tasting packages to suit your group and enjoy learning the  tasting tips of the trade.
  • Yoga
    Looking for something a little more relaxing? We can organise a fully trained yoga instructor to  visit during your stay. Enjoy a sunrise salutation in the gardens overlooking the sea or unwind after a  busy day with a relaxing stretch and moment of mindfulness.
  • Cocktail Masterclass
    An experienced bartender will come to the Castle to guide you through the  basics of cocktail making and then show you how to produce a selection of well-known drinks. Your  bartender will teach you all the tips and tricks, whilst you create and enjoy your favorite cocktails.
  • Fun Casino
    A fun casino evening, including black jack and roulette, can be set up in the Castle. This  is perfect for some informal after dinner entertainment. Each person will be given ‘fun money’ that  they can exchange for chips and the person with the most amount at the end of the evening will be  awarded a prize.
  • Chocolate Making
    An experienced chocolatier will come to the Castle to do a chocolate demo,  giving you all the insights into making your very own delicious chocolate.
  • Laser Clay Pigeon Shooting
    For this activity they will set up in the gardens of the Castle. Participants  will use real shotguns that have been deactivated and modified and use infra-red technology. When  the trigger is pulled, the shotgun will generate a ‘bang’ and if you hit the target it reproduces the  sound of a breaking clay.

    An experienced massage therapist will come to you at the Castle and can offer  a range of treatments.

    Stroll through the vineyards of The Furleigh Estate in Bridport accompanied by an  expert tour guide and discover the history and processes that go into making their delicious  selection of still and sparkling wines.     The Jurassic coast is spectacular and even more breathtaking when viewed  from the sea. Chartering a motor yacht to cruise along our spectacular Jurassic coastline is the  perfect way to spend quality time with friends and loved ones. A cruise on a Jurassic Charter motor  yacht is a fantastic experience that people of all ages will enjoy. A calm sea and a glass of bubbles in  your hand as we gently glide out of Portland Marina towards Lulworth Cove.     Portland has an abundance of incredible climbing spots. Join in with a beginner group  session and learn all the essential skills to safely climb in the area.
  • Golf
    Weymouth Golf Club is just a 20-minute drive from The Penn and offers golfing experiences for  various group sizes. The club also includes buggy hire facilities, a lounge bar and all-day catering.  Please note, they are unable to provide golf club hire so visitors will need to bring their own.
  • Laser Clay Pigeon Shooting
    For this activity they use 12 bore decommissioned shotguns which have  been transformed to release invisible laser beams when fired. An instructor will shout ‘3, 2, 1, pull!’,  a clay will fly through the sky and if your gun makes contact, the points will automatically register on  a large score board.

Swimming Pool Use

  • We hope you’ll enjoy using the swimming pool. We want to make sure it is as safe as possible for everyone, so we ask all guests to ensure that the following guidelines are respected. These guidelines are designed to meet basic health and safety regulations, so ensure that all members of your party have read the rules regarding the use of the pool.
  1. Swimming costumes are obligatory and you will need to bring your own towels unless otherwise stated.
  2. You must shower before entering the swimming pool to remove any skin oils, make-up, hair products etc.
  3. Outdoor shoes and coats must be taken off around the pool area.
  4. No alcohol or smoking is allowed in the swimming pool.
  5. Do not bring any form of glass into the pool area.
  6. Do not bring in any electrical equipment into the swimming pool area where you could be in contact with water.
  7. Children must be supervised in and around the swimming pool and must not use it without an adult present.
  8. For outdoor pools, please keep noise levels to an acceptable level – please be mindful that there are neighbouring properties in close proximity.
  9. It is safer and more enjoyable to use the pool with another person. We advise against using the pool alone without a member of your group knowing of your whereabouts.
  10. Please note you must not use the swimming pool if you are suffering from an infectious disease or you have an open wound or sore that cannot be covered by a waterproof plaster.
  11. You must not use the swimming pool within 48 hours of suffering any stomach illness.

 

Noise Policy

  • The house is set in private grounds but we do have neighbours whose needs we respect – and who are used to enjoying a peaceful, tranquil environment in this lovely location. We therefore ask all our guests to show consideration to the environment and our neighbours in all matters, and especially with regard to noise.To help ensure everyone’s holiday goes well, we ask you to respect the following noise rules:
  1. After 11pm please use the terraces and gardens around the house as quiet areas.
  2. Please do not set up music systems outside the house.
  3. Please limit any loud music playing inside the house so it cannot be heard outside.
  4. Please show consideration for our neighbours in the early morning and late evening.
  5. If you are having any deliveries or ordering taxis please ensure they have clear directions.
  • The vast majority of our guests will of course behave with great consideration to our neighbours and would never intend to offend but observing our noise policy will remove any potential for the harmonious environment to be disturbed.
