Cycling is a great way to discover much of Liverpool, and the city has excellent facilities to cycle hire; indeed, it is the largest public cycle hire scheme in the country outside of London. Merseyside is blessed with some of the world’s best golf courses. Along the coastline, dubbed ‘The Golf Coast’ there are, among a whole host of top-flight courses, three Royal Links courses: Royal Liverpool, Royal Lytham & St Anne’s, and Royal Birkdale, all of which are routinely voted as the top golf courses in England. The Beatles Story

Sefton Park

Anfield Football Ground

A short ride across the city stands one of the most iconic football stadiums in the world: Anfield, home to Liverpool Football Club. On match day, you can hear the “You’ll Never Walk Alone” anthem bellowing from the stadium, and during the week you can go for a guided tour around the grounds, visiting the dressing room, climbing the Kop stand, and touching the ‘This is Anfield’ sign which all players and managers caress religiously before a game. Aintree Racecourse

The famous racecourse is probably best known for annually holding the Grand National steeplechase. When not staging the world’s most famous horse race, Aintree hosts an additional four racedays a year and as well as being a successful conference and events venue.
Aintree also houses the longest nine-hole golf course in the country nestled within the Grand National course.

Anthony Gormley’s “Another Place”

This famous sculpture installation by the renowned Anthony Gormley is both eerie and sublime. 100 iron figures, cast from Gormley’s own body, stand stationary looking towards the sea, some completely submerged under the tide, others half in the water.

Knowsley Safari Park
