Stockland Lovell Equestrian Centre
Running over 75 acres of natural terrain providing an excellent variety of fences, both portable and permanent, including two water complexes, banks, a sunken road, three sets of steps and various ditch combinations; obstacles range from BE Intro through to BE Novice. The cross country facility is further complemented by two dedicated schooling areas, one devoted to mini fences at approximately 1’’6”, ideal for young children and the novice rider and horse, the other from 2’3” upwards. The course is open for about ten months from February to November for schooling and pleasure hacking, subject to ground conditions and events.

The Viaduct Fisheries
The Viaduct Fisheries is one of the prettiest and most natural commercial fisheries in the country. Six well-stocked lakes nestle in the beautiful Cary Valley. Constructed in the early eighties, the complex is very mature, with great character. This includes tree covered islands, lily beds, gullies and many marginal features. The stock is varied with many carp, including “species” to 28lbs; these are complemented with a healthy stock of ‘silvers’, by which we mean an impressive mix of bream, perch, tench, rudd and roach. Also present are large eels and the occasional chub. The fishery is professionally managed, fully pathed, with 136 proper timber constructed fishing platforms with plenty of safe car parking and disabled access.

Walking
Castle Neroche to Curland (4.5 miles)
A very popular walk crossing the earthworks of a Norman motte and bailey castle built in 1087. It follows public bridlepaths,tracks and green lanes. The route through the forest is well maintained as it descends into Curland providing spectacular views of the Quantock Hills.
